I captured this symbolic photo the other day whilst out on a solo-mindful photography walk – I practice these pretty much every other week.
The mindful part meaning I am taking time to observe and absorb my surroundings, consciously walking at half my usual pace. It’s glorious and hugely beneficial to my photography, mental health and wellbeing.
So who should I come across, but a guy who’s like a rock in the centre of a fast flowing river…I was struct by his stillness in amongst the human traffic swirling past him.
He acted as an ‘anchor’ for me, a structure reminding me to slow down, to stay connected to my own pace and to not get swept up into the rapids of what London may want from me.
How do you remember to slow down? Do you feel guilty or out of place when you do? What do you notice?
